FAQs
What does a first session look like?
In the first session, we'll have a discussion about what you're looking to achieve with your voice. Following that, I'll have you sing or speak to get a sense of where you're currently at. This helps me understand your voice better and allows us to create a personalized game plan tailored to your goals and needs.
What do you do as a voice teacher?
As a voice teacher, my primary focus is to help you understand how your voice works so that you can become self-sufficient in your vocal development. I tailor my approach to your specific goals and needs, bringing out YOUR unique voice rather than imposing my own. In addition to vocal technique, I also work on aspects such as posture, stage presence, body expression, emotional expression, and more, to ensure a well-rounded and impactful performance.
When should I start voice lessons? Can you work on a deadline?
The sooner, the better! Starting voice lessons earlier allows us to establish solid techniques and work on any areas that need improvement. Even if you have a specific deadline, beginning your voice lessons will provide you with valuable tools and techniques to enhance your vocal performance. It's never too late to start, so don't hesitate to begin your journey and unlock your vocal potential.
Do you offer group lessons or workshops?
Yes, I offer group voice lessons and workshops for those who prefer a collaborative learning environment. These sessions provide an opportunity to learn from and connect with fellow singers and speakers, fostering growth and camaraderie.
How long are the lessons or coaching sessions?
Typically, lessons are an hour in length.
What age range do you work with?
I work with individuals of various age groups, from children to adults. Whether you're an aspiring singer or already proficient and looking to improve your speaking skills, I provide tailored instruction and guidance to meet your specific needs.
What is your approach to vocal health?
Vocal health is of utmost importance. I prioritize teaching you techniques and practices that promote healthy vocal habits, such as proper warm-ups, vocal exercises, and vocal care routines. I aim to help you maintain and protect your voice for long-term vocal health and sustainability.
What if I have performance anxiety or lack confidence?
Performance anxiety and lack of confidence are common challenges. I understand the psychological aspect of performing and can help you overcome these hurdles. Through personalized coaching and support, we'll work together to build your confidence, develop a positive mindset, and effectively manage performance anxiety.
